Ever connected the dots between a suit and eyewear?
It takes times to pick the one that is right for you.
Wearing it, brings out your eclectic persona. It's almost transformative.
And there is an unsaid, suave and quintessential dimension about them.
One that you can't quite put a finger on.
Nothing beats a passionately made suit, hand-made by a craftsman, proud of his skill. The feel of rich materials, the hues, the shape and silhouette, and a one of a kind fit - apply that to eyewear and you have timeless frames with a modern twist.
Precious raw materials, worked by expert hands and artisanal techniques, details constructed thoroughly. Entirely handmade in Italy.
I had never really connected the dots, up until I was introduced to The Bespoke Dudes. There are details that glasses undergo in construction, like tailoring.
In ancient Italian heritage, art and beauty was considered divine. It was believed to bring you closer to divinity. Italian excellence is the pursuit of beauty in all forms and hence the sharp attention to detail.
The Italian approach to putting it all together is flawless. The sprezzatura (meaning a certain effortlessness and nonchalance) is in the styling. It is bold, colorful, and undeniably focused on quality over quantity.
It is this excellence and the passion to preserve it, that fueled Fabio Attanasio, to start a platform as the voice of the Italian tailors and artisans in 2012 with a vision to promote Italian roots to the world. As an eyewear brand co-founded with Andrea Vigano in 2015, it became one of the first Italian brands in the sector, to transmit the history, exclusivity and Italian craftsmanship that lies behind it.
To me, it embodies the Italian lifestyle and spirit of La Dolce Vita. And undeniably of adventure and culture.
Designed in Milan, crafted in Cadore (haven for eyewear making), The Bespoke Dudes is more than eyewear. The brand revisits classic Italian style at a fair price, and is sold at some of the best boutiques in the world like Rinascente, Harvey Nichols, Shinsegae, Londonfrey and many more.
Every turn, curve and joint in every design is unique. Therein lies the symphony of curating a tasteful collection, by the best artisans, with the highest quality of materials. Quality precedes quantity with there being no deadline to production.
After all, excellence requires time, and Rome wasn't built in a day.
Every name in the collection is linked to the legendary craft of tailoring, whether a fabric or technique. Subtle, silent and strong, like the sartorial elegance of a suit, the brand is understated. It has no logo, or need to be in the limelight.
It appeals to men and women who bask in the unpretentious glory of being seen.
The ability to see and be seen is exceptionally impactful. Having said that, this simple precise accessory, is almost taken for granted in the grand scheme of things.
But come to think of it, that and your keys are the two things you don't leave home without.
Inspired by Italian roots, and Italian icons in cinema, the pleasures of tailoring and italian heritage, TBD collection ranges from bohemian, vintage, and retro to classic and modern.
Innovation is key to TBD, not only for protecting heritage but also to preserve nature.
The Earth-bio collection is biodegradable and recyclable with no compromise on its aesthetic style.
Not only that, there is the exclusive service to customise and personalise your sunglasses or prescription glasses.
What started as an Italian platform addressing and showcasing artisans and tailors, is a well known name today, to the most discerning customers around the world.
The Bespoke Dudes is the result of an earnest passion to support Italian craftsmanship and carry its legacy forward in a contemporary way. This is poetically done by creating a valued relationship with connoisseurs through collaborations with industry trendsetters, and creating synergies with prestigious brands like Maserati for eg, by way of limited edition and videos.
Men and women in bespoke suits, and bespoke eyewear.
Made in Italy has never looked better.
